My name is Andrew Smith and I am a Commercial Property Consultant based in the small village of Reepham near Lincoln, England.

I started Dalton House Investments in 1988 and since that time I have been involved in many aspects of work in the U.K. commercial property sector. In the last three years with the advent again of a substantial volume of Bank appointed L.P.A. Receivership work I have to a degree moved into the residential sector as well.

Below is a selection of our current rather varied but very interesting workload.


My clients have not been numerous but have tended to be substantial in property terms and very active. This has brought a wide geographical spread of work to the practice. I operate effectively as a one man band in stark contrast to most commercial agents who tend to group in larger and larger practices to cover various specialist aspects of their work.

I work quietly from a purpose built office which has attracted the nickname - 'The Hut'.

For the information from the specialist departments I rely on a broadband connection to the internet.

'WHAT'S OCCURRING?'

On February 1st I inspected a large pub in South Shields. I took a couple of days to get back home by way of a winter break sauntering down the Yorkshire Coast and through the Yorkshire Wolds to York. On the way the North Sea battered the coast at Whitby yet beyond the harbour the sheltered River Esk was bathed by a low winter sun. In York we see Stonegate where I recently completed a rent review of The Yorkshire Terrier and finally in The National Railway Museum - 4472 Flying Scotysman looks a bit forlorn awaiting restoration.

RECENT INSTRUCTIONS ETC.

2010 looks like being a busy time. In January we completed the sales of a well located seafront property in Hythe, Kent and a substantial office building in Stafford. A lease was restructured on a large office building in Kettering. Other jobs included valuation advice on 18 new flats and duplex apartments near Warrington and there were new L.P.A. Receivership instructions for a club in South Shields and a block of new offices at Doncaster Airport.
